C.S. Lewis, clarendon house books How to Write

C. S. Lewis on How to Write

In 1954, C. S. Lewis wrote in a letter to Cynthia Donnelly about the role of Christianity in his or anyone's writing: 'We must not of course write anything that will flatter lust, pride or ambition. But we needn't all write patently moral or theological work. Indeed, work whose Christianity is latent may do quite as much good and may reach some whom the more obvious religious work would ...

 St. Croix the novel,

On March 18, 2022 we received a fantastic review on Amazon. Thank you, whoever and wherever you are.
5 stars
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Writing & a Captivating Tale

St. Croix is a captivating tale of life, adventure, faith, trust, and loyalty.

The writing is excellent. The characters are well developed and intriguing. The author weaves the story through relatable experiences.

I enjoyed this book from start to finish and was completely invested in the journey. The author captures the essences of the locations and the reader can feel transported to the specific locales.

The themes of grief & loss, faith, and trust & loyalty run through the story. They are presented in very realistic and relatable ways.

There is suspense and intrigue while remaining grounded in everyday life lived to the best of Jim's ability. The multifaceted talents of Jim, the main character, mirror our own creation. We are not just one thing, but have multiple talents and roles we play as do the characters.

The human struggles, interpersonally and intrapersonally, are also mirrored with in conflict with nature.

There are so many wonderful aspects to this book. It was a joy to read. I highly recommend it.

Instead by Grace dark to light

Instead by Grace dark to light

A compelling true story.
Drawn from a one year journal, our story documents several attacks and recovery.
It begins with an ice storm and power outage and ends in Africa.
It's available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble or any bookstore.

Cover from an actual photo of the break-in scene.

Ice weighted down the trees and took out power.

We built our home hands on while living in a camper.

One of the fields of our homestead, we call our home, The Instead.

It was to be our last stand.

Our attacks came in the form of a storm, power outage, a late night intruder, no response from 911, a shooting, cancer, a failed justice system, and a lame victim's advocacy system.
Our recourse was to turn it all over to God.
Pray for strengh, guidance and blessing according to the depth of your faith.

Winter struggles.
We've put out deer feed, Corn sweetened with molasses and I've plowed some areas of field to help them gain access to grass.

The snows came to stay and now we are about to be  hit with an ice storm.
Keeping the ducks supplied with drinking water is an additional chore.

Three times a day I bring them fresh water.

One benefit, we love to cross country ski and conditions have been superb.
